I’m firstly going to talk about some recently major news
involving one of the shows main lead actors Andrew Lincoln
who plays the main character from the comic books Rick Grimes.
The news hit the fans that the actor wants to leave the show and
that his character will have a send-off in the upcoming season

2nd Topic (low viewership and low ratings)
With the lead actor actually leaving the show what will this do too the already
declining fan base of the walking dead and the shows massive drop in ratings
compared to other seasons of the show being aired. For example, with season
8 being the shows newest seasons it only picked up 7.9 million views which
may seem a lot but it actually the shows second least watched series with
the ratings being at a low average of 3.4 with series 1 being the lowest
viewed and rated out of the 8 seasons the show has been aired.

3rd Topic (Why the show is losing viewers and ratings)

seasons since season 3 despite the fact that season 8s promo was the shows
100th episode in the series. Some drops in ratings and viewers can be caused
by the fact that streaming services are very popular now and therefore instead
of the fans watching the show on cable they wait for a full season to come
out on a streaming service like Amazon Prime. However, I don’t think this
is at all to blame for a significant drop in viewership for the walking dead
as in recent years the show has become boring with fans realizing that there
is not much diversity to the plot with many feeling that there is a boring and
obvious cycle.

episodes length.

the show but because of poor writing and budget restrictions I feel as if
the show is losing out on being a much bigger and better
